The Heart Conduit

Short Takes

The heart is the conduit through which the universe passes through us. Keep it open. What good is an open mind if the heart is closed?

Railroad Observations

By White Feather

Not many people know this but trains are louder in winter than they are in summer. It's a scientific fact--at least someone told me it is. I'm not sure. It makes sense to me, though. In summer all the trees near the railroad tracks are leafed out and all those leaves absorb a lot of sound. Then there is the air itself; thin in winter and thicker and more sound absorbant in summer. I'm not sure what the reasoning is--and don't care--but this is something I've noticed in the 17 months that I've been living 4 blocks from the railroad tracks. I've also noticed that the trains are a lot louder when I open the windows.

It has been pointed out to me that if trains are indeed louder when the windows are open then they should technically be louder in the summer instead of the winter because it is in summer when the windows are open the most. While that iron-clad logic is difficult to refute, my empirical observations have clearly shown me that trains are actually louder in winter. It would be easy for a battle to pursue between my auditory faculties and the left-half of my noggin but no one cares to buy a ticket for a seat to that show so such unnecessary warfare is usually averted.

Back when I lived in Colorado my wolfdog would take me for long walks along the old abandoned railroad tracks. We would walk for hours listening to the sound of trains. Of course, since there were no trains what we were actually listening to was silence, one of the most pleasant and powerful and envigorating sounds known to human ears. At least that is what I was hearing. I can't speak for the dog.

Here in Corncobville, however, the trains are very loud. And if you are foolish enough to try to take a walk along the railroad tracks it will only be a matter of minutes before a SWAT team encircles you and orders you off the tracks--or so I'm told.

The other day I had my windows open and there was a train going through town but I could not hear it. I could actually see it from my window through a small break in the urban forest canopy--a hole that will disappear in about a week or two as the trees leaf out. Then I will no longer be able to see any trains. I will only be able to hear them (and feel them as the building shakes). But that day I could see the train but not hear it and the reason is because just outside my opened window were approximately 250 to 350 birds, each and every one of which was chirping as loudly as they could. Imagine that; I could not hear the train because the birdsong was so loud! How fantastic is that? And where is the logic in that? How on earth can four Burlington, Northern, and Santa Fe engines pulling eighty cars be quieter than a couple hundred tiny little itty bitty birdies? It is a concundrum that any left hemisphere of a human brain would find delicious and exciting. Of course, that could be a distraction from the joy of simply experiencing the mystery.

And, of course, that mental distraction would only lead to further mental distractions....such as pondering if perhaps the trains are actually the quietest in springtime.

Harriet

Short Takes
Harriet complained about the weather all the time. That is how much she disliked herself. Occasionally, however, there came some days that were so gloriously beautiful and perfect that she simply could not find a single thing to complain about. It was on these days that she liked herself. If only I could control the weather, she thought.

The Doorway of Stillness

By White Feather

In the stillness of a quiet mind there is the peace we seek.
In that peace we awaken to our true selves.
And we awaken to a new reality.

Paradise remains unnoticed because of the noise in our head.
And the noise of our emotions keeps joy at bay.
Knowledge stands in the way of wisdom.

Walking through the doorway of stillness,
we step into our power and are saturated with life.
Unchecked, joy explodes from within us.

Postcards From Corncobville, #5

By White Feather

I love farmers' markets. They are in a different dimension of shopping. I noticed recently at the grocery store that most people don't look at each other. They are all in their own worlds. Everything is dehumanized. You're not buying food but rather 'product.' You don't talk to anyone about what you're buying and you may only say two or three words to the checkout clerk. Gathering the food that we eat has become an impersonal and perfunctory task that generates no enthusiasm and resonates at a low vibration. The dull lighting and canned air of the grocery stores don't help.

I was pretty well stocked up on produce at home but I went to the farmer's market anyway. The only thing I needed was zucchini. Making the round of stalls, I saw that there were five people selling zucchini. Normally, my main concern with produce is whether it is organic or not. Other concerns include local origin, GMO's, and corporate affiliation. But at a farmer's market other concerns come into play.

The zucchini all five stalls were selling looked rather identical. Same size, same color; I'm sure there was little or no difference in quality. So it was not a matter of finding the best zucchini to buy but rather finding the best people to buy it from. That's something that doesn't happen in the grocery store.

Three of the five zucchini mongers were big time sellers with large trucks carrying baskets and baskets of produce. The fourth vendor was sitting in a chair next to his table of produce. His face was contorted into a seemingly permanent look of anger. He was just sitting there. What was he mad about?

The final stall selling zucchini was manned by an older woman and two girls. And a dog. One of the girls was about 8 years old and the other about 12. As I approached they looked me in the eye and, with huge smiles on their faces, they greeted me and fell into a very cheerful sales pitch. I looked over at the older woman sitting in a lawn chair next to the table. The little yappie dog was sitting in her lap. She said nothing and just smiled. I could tell that she was not running the stall. She was just an observer. It was the two girls who were running the show.

I then got the idea in my head that the sitting woman was the grandmother of the two girls and I imagined that it was the grandmother who helped the girls plant their own garden. She surely helped them produce their little crop which she probably told them they could make some money on in addition to putting food on the table. She probably taught the girls how to be good cheerful sales people and run their own little business. I could see that she was proud of them.

Of course, I do not know if my little imagined scenario was true or not but it was certainly a nice thing to imagine. I never imagine such things at the grocery store. Anyway, I let the girls talk me into buying some zucchini. I cheerfully paid them and gave them a tip. Hey, girls need money.

I left the stall feeling very good about my shopping experience. I figure those zucchini I bought were filled with nothing but good vibrations. This is how shopping should always be like.

I thought I was done shopping but as I was leaving the market area (a roped off area in the Sears parking lot) I noticed a fellow sitting in a chair next to a table that had on it nothing but a big black pot. Noticing me look his way, the man stood up from his chair and waved me over to his stall. When I got there he asked me, "Would you like to try some goat meat?"

The young man looked to be about six and a half feet tall. He was big. Opening the big black pot, he took a toothpick and stabbed a piece of goat meat and offered it to me.

It was eight o'clock in the morning. I had never been offered goat meat at eight o'clock in the morning before. It was an offer so out of the ordinary and out of the expected, how could I possibly say no?

It was delicious! Of course, the truth is that I have never been offered goat meat at any time of day. I've never eaten it before. It was quite tasty.

I figured the young fella to be in his early twenties but once he told me his story I realized that he was younger than that. He said that for his high school 4H project he raised goats. Now that he had just graduated from high school he decided to have the goats butchered and he was selling the meat to raise money for college partying.

I laughed. I couldn't believe this man was standing directly in front of me telling me this. This is something you will never, ever in a million trillion years experience at a grocery store! How delightful it was to try something I've never eaten before and to hear a mind-slapping story as a bonus. I keep telling the universe to keep surprising me with wild and crazy things. I try to always say, thank you.

I also thanked the tall young goat wrangler. I tipped him, too. Hey, college boys need money, too.

Postcards From Corncobville, #4

By White Feather

The farmer's market finally opened up last week. They did not have much to offer but it is still early in the season. After a four month drought the local fruits and veggies have been struggling. Two weeks straight with high temperatures between 105 and 115 degrees did not help. We finally got rain a couple of days ago, however, so hopefully things will get better.

It was a good rain. It lasted, on and off, for around ten hours. We got around two inches of rain, which is more than we have gotten collectively over the last sixty days. The local corn farmers are surely dancing a jig. What I really like about that rainstorm is that it significantly lowered temperatures. The low 90's seem downright cool compared to 115.

I guess the reason I mentioned the farmer's market is because right now I'm eating a delightfully delicious cantaloupe that I bought there. I suppose it is probably rude of me to type with my mouth full. Of course, you would not have known that except that I told you. So forgive me....but I just can't stop stuffing more cantaloupe into my mouth. This cantaloupe is approximately 6,000 times more juicy and flavorful than that cantaloupe I bought at Wal-Mart about a month ago. I hope I do not drip any cantaloupe juice on the keyboard.

Don't you just love orange food? I know I do. Cantaloupes, apricots, peaches, mangos, yams and sweet taters, pumpkins, oranges, carrots; if it is orange it is no doubt healthy for you. Peaches, I have to say, are my most favorite ornage fruit--maybe favorite of all fruits. Someone once said to me, "Biting into a good juicy peach is like french kissing God." When I first heard this, many years ago, I was somewhat taken aback. After all, we are not supposed to talk about God and sex in the same sentence--maybe not even in the same paragraph. But years of reflection have allowed me to see the beauty in that statement. What I do know is that biting into a fresh juicy peach is an opportunity for us to experience pure joy and joy is what connects us to the All That Is. Peaches can actually show us what an incredible paradise we live in.

I cannnot wait for the Colorado peaches to arrive later this month. If they are as good as last year then I am in line for some colossal joy. We send Colorado corn and Colorado sends us peaches. Personally, I think we get the better end of the deal.

Spiritual Evolutionary Imperative

By White Feather

When the overall vibration of the human collective mind increases beyond a certain frequency, change happens at an accelerated pace. That which is of the lower vibration will drop away. That which matches the new vibration is empowered. The human collective mind cannot change vibration, however, until a critical mass of humans first change their individual vibrations. To do this, those individuals must observe and release the conditioned thinking that binds them to the old status quo vibration. There is a collective mind, a collective ego, and collective emotions. There is also a collective pain-body. We cannot still our own mind and disidentify with our own ego and emotions if we are still tuned in and resonating with the collective.

A law of vibration states that we tend to vibrate at near the same frequency of our environment. Our planet vibrates within a certain spectrum of frequency and all life upon the planet vibrates within that same spectrum. If you cannot vibrate at or near the same frequency as your environment you cease to exist in that environment. We try to raise the frequency of our environment through our actions and our thoughts but if those actions and thoughts are directed at the environment they will only reinforce the existing frequency. The only way to change the outer environment is to change our inner environment--the environment beneath our thoughts and emotions and egoic mind. It is from that space of stillness that we can open up to that consciousness flowing through us from our Source. By surrendering all resistance to that flow we can allow it to uplift our vibrations as it moves through us. Then, as our vibrations increase, we magnetize an outward reality that matches that.

We try to bring the old environment, the old reality, with us into a new frequency but we cannot do that. The old environment, the old reality, vibrates at a certain level and can only hold us back at that level. We've got to stop trying to change the old reality. The old reality is what it is. You can't change it; you can only create a new reality. And that involves removing one's attention, energy, emotions, thoughts, and focus from the old reality. We can still observe the old reality and move about through it but it is the attention, energy, emotions, thoughts, and focus that keeps us vibrationally bound to that reality. As an observer in a state of presence, we can start seeing how strongly we are connected to the collective ego, collectve mind, and collective pain-body. Seeing that connection, we become aware that we have a choice of disconnecting from it and creating a new reality. Many are afraid of disconnecting with the collective. It's part of the big separation issues humankind has. That fear keeps vibrational increases moving at a snail's pace. We still haven't gotten over being separated from our Source and now we have to separate from the collective? What about one-ness?

We're not separating from one-ness (that's impossible). We're merely separating from one vibrational frequency and opening up to another. We're merely expanding our awareness to include more of one-ness. We are consciousness becoming aware of itself. This is the individuation process that has been taking us through the octaves of vibrational frequency in our process of spiritual evolution.

Truth Schmooth

By White Feather

There is only one truth that I agree with and that is this: The only absolute truth is that there are no absolute truths. Notice I said "agree with" and not "believe in." Agreeing with something is one thing but believing in something is different. When one believes in something that something is taken as absolute and never questioned. I think it is a horrible mistake to stop questioning anything. When we stop questioning we stop exploring and when we stop exploring we stop expanding our awareness. As our awareness expands our perceptions expand and we start seeing these so-called truths in new light and we realize that they are not absolute, that there are other dimensions to them. Reality changes as our perceptions change. That's why religions insist that their devotees never question their "absolute truths" because if they did they might expand their awareness to take in new perceptions that would show those absolute truths to be not so absolute. When you can get people to stop questioning and stop exploring and to simply believe then you can use those beliefs to control them. Religion is one of the biggest obstacles to expansion of human awareness.

Personally, I don't care for either religion or science. Both are in the business of establishing absolute truths. One hundred years ago science had established many "truths" that have been proven either wrong or not absolute in the subsequent one hundred years since then. Likewise, one hundred years from now the science of today will seem almost primitive because we will have learned so much more by then. Why? Because there will be those who refuse to believe and continue to question and explore, pushing the envelope of our awareness to reveal new perspectives. But as in religion, there are those in science who insist their truths to be absolute and we are asked to believe. Not me! I don't ruin anything by believing in it.

As a species we are obsessed with truth. We want everything to be absolute so that we don't have to think about it, question it, or explore new possibilities. It's so much easier to have science or religion do our thinking for us. We seek comfort in the status quo of absolutes. Out of fear we won't rock the boat. We fear the unknown, we fear change, we fear disruption. Believing in truths, we are comforted and our fears are assuaged at least temporarily. Of course, change is inevitable (my favorite oxymoron: change is constant). So since change is inevitable, a change in our perception is inevitable which means we will inevitably see all "truths" in new ways and realize that nothing is absolute. "Believing" in a truth is closing the door to the inevitable. It's trying to make absolute that which cannot be absolute.

Having discarded "believing in a truth," I prefer to simply gauge resonation. Instead of trying to decide whether or not I believe in something I simply feel how much I resonate with it. If I resonate strongly then I can acknowledge or even agree with that something while leaving open the doors of change and exploration. Resonation has to do with vibrations. Our rate of vibration changes constantly as does the vibration of everything. I could be vibrating at a certain frequency today and that frequency may resonate with something but six months from now I may be vibrating at a significantly different frequency which does not resonate with that something. And that something may be vibrating at a different frequency as well! By not trying to make a truth absolute by believing it then it becomes easier for us when our vibrations change. Our "truths won't be shattered." It becomes easier to change vibrations and thus expand our perceptions and awareness.

You can take a truth and set it down in the middle of a football field. Then you can take one hundred people and put them in a big circle around that truth. Everyone will see the truth from their own particular perspective. You will have one hundred different perceptions of that truth and all of them are valid and none of them are absolute. If you are one of those one hundred people and you begin preaching that your perception of that truth is the only valid and absolute one, then you are creating either a religion or a science. And I won't believe you or even agree with you, except that I will agree that your perception may indeed be valid for you personally--provided you don't move from your spot and experience that truth from other perspectives. I have a feeling, though, that you will eventually move from your spot. Who is going to stand in one spot forever?

So personally--and this is strictly my opinion--I feel that believing in truths is a waste of time. I want to keep moving and not have any truths tie me down. I will gauge resonation but will then move on, knowing that resonation, like everything else, changes. I prefer to be at the edge pushing the envelope, not searching for truth but rather for experience. As a species, we are not happy with experience. We are more concerned with labeling things as truth or not. It's like someone who goes on a vacation and spends the whole vacation taking pictures of everything. They come home and show all the pictures to their friends. It's like proclaiming to those friends, "See, I really did go on vacation." But if they spent all their time taking pictures were they really on vacation? Or were they just gathering proof (establishing truth) of a vacation without actually experiencing one?

So truth, to me, is just one particular snapshot taken from one particular perspective at one particular point in time. Truth is available to everyone. But I'm not interested in truth. I'm concerned with experience, with life itself.

Postcard From Corncobville, #3

By White Feather

After a couple of days walking the nature trail, today I instead went to the goose ponds for my walk. I was curious to see if the great blue heron that I had spotted was still hanging around. To my utter delight, it was!

I brought my camera but guess what? My batteries were dead. I laughed and took it as a sign to put the camera away and just enjoy the presence of the heron.

And enjoy it I did! What a magnificent bird. I watched it for about half an hour as it shifted around the pond looking for the best fishing spot. I watched it fish in four different spots but I did not see it catch anything. When it left one spot to find another it would flap its mighty wings three or four times and then glide over the water to the shore on the opposite side of the pond. I swear it was gliding not more than eighteen to twenty-four inches above the water. Because of its colossal wingspan it would be impossible for the heron to flap its wings while gliding so low over the water. When it reached the other shore it simply pulled its wings back and parachuted to a semi-graceful landing. With its enormous wingspan and those long bony legs hanging behind it as well as its long necks hanging down, the bird's flight evoked a sense of prehistoric dinosaur times. I could not take my eyes off it.

One of the fishing spots the heron tried out was no more than about fifteen feet from an asphalt road over which SUV's and pickup trucks passed on a surprisingly regular basis. The bird was not fazed by the traffic one iota. It seemed oblivious to it. I was surprised by that.

I think it would be really cool if every night before we went to bed we asked our selves this one question: What was the most super fantastic, wonderful, mind-blowing, uplifting, and exciting experience that I had today? The first time you do this you might realize that you did not have any super fantastic, wonderful, mind-blowing, uplifting, and exciting experience that day. That's okay. Just think back over your day to find the most exciting thing that happened, even if that thing was seemingly small and insignificant. Once you have found in your memories of the day the experience that answers that question then momentarily focus in on that memory, embrace it, feel it, zap it with mojo, and then, addressing the universe, say, "Thank you!" And say it like you mean it. You've got to feel the gratitude. Once you've done this then completely release that memory. Forget about it and go to bed.

If you do this every single night, after approximately one lunar cycle  you will start realizing that your best daily experiences become more super fantastic, intensely more wonderful, a hundred times more mind-blowing, infinitely more uplifting, and a thousand times more exciting. The joy level rises at an exponentially rapid pace from there on out, the more you do this exercise.

It's just a thought. Give it a try.

Postcard From Corncobville, #2

By White Feather

I went for my daily nature walk today just like most days and I went around the same time of day. It was very non-eventful. I had no animal encounter. I saw no exotic bird. I had no epiphanies as I walked through nature. I didn't reach a profound ecstatic state. Sure, it totally chilled me out and put me in touch with the divine and it prompted me to be grateful but, overall, it was pretty ordinary.

Later, when I got home, I realized that not once, since the day began, had I asked the universe for an animal encounter or a bird sighting or a paradigm-shattering epiphany. I didn't ask for anything extraordinary so therefore all I got was the ordinary.

Duh!

Postcard From Corncobville, #1

By White Feather

As some of you may know, I live in a fictional town known as Corncobville. It is a real town located on the Great Plains of Turtle Island. This is where I am currently living despite the fact that it is not my ideal location. There are no palm trees nor beaches nor mountains and the prevailing mass consciousness is in direct opposition to that vibration in which I prefer to dwell. Obviously, I can whine and complain or I can see it as a challenge. Personally, I think there are more options but for now I am seeing it as a challenge to squeeze every ounce of joy and beauty out of everything I encounter. It can be a challenge to see beyond the desolation and starkness of the land but I have found that when one rises to that challenge splendiferous rewards await. Beauty is everywhere and merely awaits the eyes that can notice it.

I have made the conscious decision to disengage--at least partially--from the mass human mind and the internet upon which it thrives. This puts me more squarely in the NOW and in....Corncobville. It is a beauteous and glorious dimension. I never would have booked it but it has been a vacation full of surprises, tons of joy, plenty of awareness expansion, and beauty in every nook and cranny. Who would have thunk it?

So while I traverse this strange land I will take notes (and some pictures) and I will send them back to that other dimension where everyone else is.

Creations

By White Feather

Every single time we think a thought, that thought flows over the neurons in our noggin and it is electrically zapped and in this process it is given life. Every single thought we think is like a child we create, birth, and give life to. Just like the physical human children we create, every thought has free will. As soon as we give life to a thought by thinking it, it no longer belongs to us. It is an independent creation with free will that we no longer have any control over. Having been given life, that thought then goes out into the infinite field of infinite possibilities in hopes of magnetizing the possibilities that will allow that thought/creation to manifest and express itself fully.

Think about that. We can say that we, each of us, are thoughts that our Creator once thought. Our Creator's thought went into the infinite field of infinite possibilities inside this womb universe. Those thoughts magnetized just the right possibilities for us to be born into these human bodies. We have free will and are an independent creation of the Creator who "thought us." We have manifested in order to fully express the thought that we were created from. That thought was a thought of unconditional love and it was zapped with the energy and consciousness of that unconditional love as it was being created.

We are creations resulting from the thoughts of our Creator and likewise every single one of our thoughts are our creations. The big question is whether or not we put as much unconditional love into our thoughts as our Creator did. The simple act of thinking a thought gives it life and therefore that thought must eventually manifest. But a thought that is thought without any intensity and without unconditional love will be very weak and have a hard time magnetizing to it the possibilities it needs to manifest. A thought thought with unconditional love and backed up with unpolluted unconditional love of the strongest magnitude will be birthed with so much energy that it will be able to magnetize any and all possibilities quickly in order to manifest and express that unconditional love it was birthed/created with.

This is how we were created and it is how we are learning to create. Humans are generally and blissfully unaware of their creative powers. Our Creators created us to become Creators who can manifest and create and express the unconditional love that we were birthed from. It is through our very long journey through the infinite field of infinite possibilities that we have very slowly been gaining awareness of our divine creative abilities (as we slowly magnetize to us the events and knowledge that shows us that). To become the Creators that our Creator thought/created us to be, it is essential that we become aware of our creative abilities and to also become aware of true pure unconditional love. These are the two ingredients we are magnetizing to our selves in order to fully realize and fully become that thought that our Creator had. When that thought fully manifests through us then we become the fully aware Creator of that thought who can then create in the same way our Creator created us.

How cool is that? Right now we are divine Creators who are creating with our every thought but we are not even aware of that. We are also unaware of the unconditional love from which we came. Our evolution is the process of expanding our awareness of what we are and embracing the unconditional love we were created from. Our journey is a process of realizing how infinitely powerful we are. We are Creators who are constantly creating. The only thing that will change is our awareness of that and the amount of unconditional love we put into our creations.

The Mirror In Front Of Our Faces

By White Feather

Although crickets will tell stories in their own peculiar way, the moon does not create stories. The moon is passive. It is female. It's just a big round ball of rock and cheese. It doesn't write stories but rather it merely reflects stories. In fact, it reflects all the stories created on Earth. It's a big fat circular mirror that reflects all the stories played out on our lovely planet. Every story ever played out on our planet was recorded, imprinted, by the moon and it is perpetually reflected back to us. Planet Earth is the grand stage upon which the universe puts on all its dramas. The moon is the mirror that allows us to see and feel each and every story. You can have an incredible selection of DVDs and you can have an Amazon Kindle e-reader with 100,000 books on it and you can have the Library of Congress in your garage but none of that comes close to the repository that is the moon. A big difference between the moon and the Akashic Records is that you can actually see the moon with your eyeballs. That means the stories can enter your awareness in a physically tangible way. We have developed blocks to the spiritual dimensions that keep out the wisdom and knowledge of the infinite stories we're involved in. The moon, however, is capable of reflecting those stories to us and getting them past our blocks through the portals of our eyeballs.

The only problem is that we seldom notice the moon.

The Sword of Imagination

By White Feather

Imagination and dopplegangers go hand-in-hand. They are our true selves reaching into the heart of the infinite field of possibilities. Imagination is the ultimate creative tool. It is the employment of our divine creative abilities. Dopplegangers represent the field of infinite possibilites through which we steer our imagination. Everything that we imagine is immediately played out into the field of infinte possibilities. Our dopplegangers show us the various infinite possibilites. They are the gateways to the infinite possibilites that we can choose between to embrace. How can we embrace a possibility if we do not open the doorway to it? Our dopplegangers are the doormen to our doorways. They are the ones representing and embracing the feeling tone vibrations of each and every possibility. They are the choices we choose from.

Usually when we make choices we employ that left side of our brain known as reason and logic. But we cannot access a doppleganger through logic and reason. We can only access them through FEELING. Only through accessing the vibrational patterning, the rhythm, of that doppleganger can we FEEL the answers to possible choices. That is when we can bring that vibrational patterning into the matrix of our everyday life. We can bring ideas and notions and attitudes into our matrix but that won't change things; it will only reinforce our connection to mass consciousness which is full of such notions and attitudes and ideas. We must bring in the FEELING of the answers into the matrix in order for the matrix to be changed vibrationally. To do this we must connect and merge with our dopplegangers strictly on a vibrational level. We must release the reasoning and logic of the left brain and connect on a feeling-tone level. We must merge and become our doppleganger in order to bring that vibrational patterning into our matrix and have it supercede mass consciousness programming.

Imagination is a tool we can use to connect with our dopplegangers and the field of infinite possibilites. It is one of the most valuable tools we have. It is one of God's greatest gifts. It is one of the greatest gifts we have ever given our selves. But this gift has nothing whatsoever to do with the left side of the brain and it cannot be opened by the left half of the brain. Imagination is the tool we have given our selves to pierce through the limitations of consciousness and awareness that we find our selves trapped within. It is the sword the god that we are gave our selves to cut through the limitations of ego and duality. It is the sword King Arthur pulled out of the seemingly solid rock of mass human consiousness. It is the sword that cuts through the veils of human perception and reconnects us with the field of infinite possibilites through which we create our reality. Imagination is what connects our solar plexi and our noggins. But we cannot connect if our noggins are operating only from the left side.

If we operate out of the left side of our brain exclusively then we can know that the sword is ensconsed in stone. When we open up the right side of our brain as well as our solar plexus then the sword comes easily out of the rock and we can use that sword to cut the tendrils that keep us attached to the limitations of mass consciousness. That sword is imagination. We can use that sword to cut our attachments to ego, to mass consciousness, to a lifetime of conditioning, to everything that lies in our path to the realization of our divinity. The mistake is to see that sword as a weapon. Once the sword is free there are no longer any enemies. The sword, instead, becomes an instrument of creation. It turns into a pen or a paintbrush or camera or potter's wheel or video camera or words softly spoken to loved ones. Instead of cutting and dividing things it unites things. The sword is the one-ness that illuminates duality at the same time it brings it back together into one-ness. Instead of a weapon, it becomes that which unites all things.

That sword is imagination. Imagination is not a tool of the left side of our brain and our ego. It is the tool of our true self, our witness, our divine being, our divinity. It is the tool we use to evolve spiritually and intellectually and physically. It is the mechanism through which we connect, or reconnect, with God. Our Source constantly feeds the universe with consciousness and unconditional love. Imagination is what Gods use to take that Source energy and create with. It is the grandest ability we humans have.

Raindrops and Words

By White Feather

I was sitting at my computer and lightning began flashing across the windows of the room. Soon thunder began rumbling through my reality. It was not long before raindrops began pelting the windows ("pelting" may be the wrong word in light of the hailstorm we had last week). The mild thunderstorm waving across my local reality is in my awareness but my attention is on the words that I type out on the computer screen before me to be posted on this forum.

"Awareness" and "attention" are different yet they are also similar. We could say that one is active and the other is passive but that would not be totally accurate because they could be interchangeable. Awareness and attention could be seen as two sides of the same coin. We can call that coin, perception. How do we perceive? Through awareness or attention?

The thing that awareness and attention have in common is choice. We can choose what we are aware of and we can choose what we pay attention to.

So that brings us to the notion of "watcher" or "witness." Is the "watcher" or "witness" that which chooses what we pay attention to or are aware of or that which watches what we choose to pay attention to or be aware of? This, I feel, is a major differentiation in our awareness. Our ego sees differentiations and chooses between them but our "watcher" or "witness" observes the ego choosing. Does the ego get the final say or does the witness?

An ego sees a fly as a nuisance. A "watcher" watches how the ego interacts with the fly.

To step back from the ego and its interactions with life is to become the observer, the I Am, the true self. The ego is what runs the mind and the emotions. The true self is "what is," what observes the machinations of the ego/mind/emotions/body. The true self has unlimited awareness. The awareness and attention of the egoic mind is limited. So if we're talking about awareness and attention we must differentiate between the egoic mind and the true self. With the true self there is no differentiation. Awareness and attention are the same thing. It is because of our egos that a differentiation was even created.

If I were truly speaking from my true self, my I Am presence, there would be no differentiation between the raindrops splattering my window and the words I type into this post.

If only I were that evolved.......

Need For Change

By White Feather

If we can see the incredible wondrous beauty in the world then we are filled with joy rather than with a need to change the world. If we focus on the crap then that need to change things rises within us. I agree with those who say that the planet does not need to transform but I also feel that it will simply because that is its nature. Change is a constant. If we are focused on directing that change then we are obviously not focused on the beauty and perfection that is so prevalent in the NOW moment.

The same thing can be said on a personal level. If we are totally focused on changing ourselves then we're not focused on the incredible beauty and perfection of ourselves just as we are. We are not truly loving ourselves. When we can see and focus on our own beauty and perfection, that beauty and perfection becomes empowered and grows and engulfs our lives. Change is a byproduct of this. It happens as a result of that self-love growing and impacting ever more parts of our lives. If we focus exclusively on the byproduct then we're missing out on what causes that byproduct and we are spinning our wheels trying to make change happen instead of letting it happen as a result of loving ourselves.

We can move from a personal level to a level that includes friends and families and coworkers. If we feel we need to change or transform any of them and if we are focusing on that then we are essentially holding them in a state of imperfection and not much is really going to change. If we see and focus on the beauty and perfection in them, then we are empowering them and the love within them, helping that love to grow which results in change and transformation. The same goes for global levels. We cannot transform the world except through seeing the outrageously incredible beauty and perfection of it and getting into and staying in a state of wonderment and joy and love. We can focus on other people's faults and the faults of the world and this gives energy to those faults and empowers those faults. Only love transforms and it is just as powerful on all levels of existence.

I have said it before but I will say it again: We cannot love all others unless we love ourselves and we cannot love ourselves unless we love all others. When we are in a state of wonderment there is no need to change anything. And that is exactly when everything changes. But do things really change or is it just our perceptions that change? Many spooky spooks have said that we create our reality through perception. Since the outrageously incredible beauty and perfection are already there, we are not changing anything by seeing it but as we hold that state of wonderment over it our subsequent actions and reactions naturally change as a result. This is the byproduct. This is the change that happens.

Love transforms. Everything else is a hamster wheel. Love, joy, and beauty are what can hold us in a state of wonderment and in that state we can step out of the hamster wheel and love ourselves into existence.

The Paths We Are On

By White Feather

To me, the most important part of any path is the ground directly below one's feet. That is the only part of one's path that can be experienced and enjoyed in the present NOW. Time spent scrutinizing and judging the part of the path behind us that we've already traveled is time wasted and time spent not in the NOW. Likewise, excessive scrutiny and judgment of the path that lies ahead also is time spent not in the NOW, not present on the spot of the path we currently are on. Our awareness and appreciation and actions in the present NOW determine how the path unfolds in front of us. If we are loving ourselves in the present NOW then a path of possibilities opens up for that love to continue and grow.

My own personal pathway has taken me to countless different places with many different experiences but in many ways it has not changed much over the years. No matter where my path takes me I bring with me so many of the same burdens and challenges. Though the pathway seems to take me to ever new places, there has not been a corresponding amount of change. I learn the same lessons and meet the same challenges over and over. It can seem like the path is a big circle. It is as I drop baggage and conditioning and issues that the path veers off into new directions and real change happens. My path becomes brighter when I become a litterbug, dumping my garbage off to the side of the path and lightening my load. As I shed the burdens I've chosen to carry I realize that it is easier to travel and that there really is no place up ahead to take those burdens to. They can be dumped anywhere. By lightening my load in the NOW I am enabling myself to better enjoy the path ahead. Without the burdens I find that I am not so concerned about the path ahead because I am so happy right where I am. When you're carrying a lot of luggage you tend to walk quickly and you take the shortest path so that you can hurry up and get where you're going so that you can put the baggage down. It's better to just put the baggage down and proceed without it. Our paths then suddenly become way more fun.

We worry about where we are going and whether our path will take us there. The less we enjoy where we are now, the more we concern our selves with where we are going to. We think a pathway will lead us to change but change can only happen in the present NOW. It's the only place change actually happens. So if we are on a path to change that change will remain in the future. Our paths do not lead to change. Change is what determines our path. The ultimate destination is the here and now and the pathway that takes us there is loving our selves. It is the path we are all on.
